               First meetings.

I ran out of my house in a rush, tossing the mail carelessly aside, and giving myself a paper cut that I didn't even notice.
I had forgotten to get more milk, and my roommates would be ticked. I jumped down the last few stairs and started my normal route through the park, since it was faster then going any other way.
It was sunset, and I should have taken a cab, but I could handle walking back. It took about half an hour, but I got the milk and was on my way back.
There weren't many people left on the streets, just a man with a blue sweater waiting for the bus, an old woman with her little dog, a girl in a hat and shawl who was a little skinny, and a few skateboarders.
One of the skatboarders pulled up beside me.
"yo! Hey Jane! What's the rush?" the familiar voice of my family friend Carter asked. He had blonde hair and was tan with amber eyes. He skated along beside me as I walked quickly.
"Just running an errand." I said, holding up the plastic bag which contained the milk carton.
"you need a ride?" he asked.
"no Carter I'm just gonna walk. I don't want to get back to my roomies fast. See ya!" I waved and turned down the park path slowing down. I really didn't want to get back, they made me feel like Cinderella, so I would just take my time getting there.
I stepped quickly onto the travel worn cement that was the park path. The street lamps flickered on as it was getting very dark. I approached the old oak tree that stood near a street light. I adjusted the plastic bag around my wrist so that I was holding it.  A sudden feeling of nervousness hit me. I couldn't stop myself from stealing a glance behind me out of sudden paranoia.
I sighed, seeing that there was no one there, and looked back to the tree up ahead. My breath caught in my throat as I thought I saw someone. 'Just a shadow' I thought to myself, as the shape seemed not to move, but it was in the right place to just be a branch and a trick of the light. I relaxed, never having stopped walking. The cut on my finger from the mail this afternoon started to sting horribly. I felt the hairs on my arms rise as the shadow stepped away from the tree and into the light. It was easy to see the man. He had a bronze wife beater on, grey sweat pants, and a brown coat with a high collar. His hair was sort of spiky and longish, and his eyes were closed. I just kept walking.
'he's probably just walking by.' I reassured myself.
He started walking toward me, and I just kept going.
He got within five feet of me, and stopped. He had his face down a little. I couldn't help but stop. A smile spread across his face, his teeth were fangs. He snapped his eyes open, and I dropped my bag, the carton breaking and spilling out.
His eyes were solid yellow, and glowed slightly in the dark.
I opened my mouth to scream, and he ran forward clothes lining me. The air flew from my lungs, as he wrapped his arm around me and started running faster then I thought was possible.
He ran into the forest, shifting me slightly, as a rope wound my hands behind my back. I was to frightened to speak. This…. Man, looked more feline then human. The bridge of his nose wasn't very defined and his ears were jagged.
He jumped down into a water way. Going straight for a flood drain in the wall, that was completely dry in the summer weather. His steps echoed down the tunnels, as he weaved around corners. Eventually slowing. The cavern we had entered was dimly lit, and had two rising walls on both sides that stopped and had at least ten feet before the ceiling .

"Let me go!" I managed to shout.
He set me beside him holding onto the rope that tied me.
"Trust me," He said in a growling voice.
"There's no need to fear." I didn't believe him.
"Everyone's here, waiting for you to finally be one of us," He gestured to the walls above, where I saw more sets of glowing eyes. I let out a little scream.
"What's going on!" I said in panic.
"Come down," He said walking me to an alter like slab.
"You may be full of fear, but you'll be safe here, when you finally trust me." He said roughly as he pulled my back against his chest and dragged one of his claws over my throat, cutting me. It stung bad and I let out a cry, as he pushed me onto the table like slab. I looked toward where one of the walls ended and went to a hall way. There was another one of "them" leaning against the wall. He stopped leaning and studied me.
This one had long black hair held back into a pony tail, but was wearing about the same thing as the other.
My kidnapper approached me as I whimpered in pain and fear.
He raised his clawed hand and hit me across the arm.
Tears poured out my eyes as my skin ripped and blood ran down my arm. "AAAA!!" I screamed in pain, as he reached back another arm. The long haired one stepped forward and growled something. My tormentor glared back and a horrible growl tore from him. The long haired one crouched slightly and said something strange again. The one who had hit me, started backing up and disappeared into the darkness, along with the others up above. I shook, tears still going down my face as I gripped my arm. The long haired one ran toward me, and I screamed. He scooped me up in his arms, and started running with me down the dark hallways. I struggled, but he was to strong. A door opened and slammed as I flew hard against a bed. All sorts of thoughts raced across my mind. He was wearing a coat like the other one, but had jeans on and a white wife beater, his face was sharper too, not as blunt as the firsts had been. My eyes widened in horror as he ripped off his shirt.
There was no doubt in my mind why I hadn't just been killed now. "no no no." I managed to say, quietly horrified as I shut my eyes tight. I heard him get closer, and he grabbed my arm.
I screamed again, so scared at what was happening.
"Quiet!" he growled lowly. It was happening like you would see in a movie, and I couldn't do anything. I fealt something tighten around my arm, and I screamed again. I struggled to free my arm, my eyes closed tight. His hand wrapped around my wrist and the other around my chin, forcing my face steady. "Girl! I said quiet!" He growled again. I cried more.
He shook my head slightly.
"Stop look at me!" he growled. I shut my eyes tighter.
"look at me!" he growled again. I opened my eyes in obedience.
His face was softer then I thought it would be. It didn't look like he was going to force me to do anything. His jaw was tense though. I looked at my arm. His shirt was wrapped around it to stop the bleeding. I blinked away the tears.
"quiet. Good, calm down," He said his growling voice not as bad.
I nodded quickly, and he released my arm and chin. He was kneeling on the bed, right next to me.
He took another piece of his shirt and held it quickly to my neck, I panicked and struggled. His hand flew to my face, holding it against the pillow, and covering most of my face.
"Stop! Stop moving! You'll hurt yourself." He growled angrily.
He tied the cloth loosely around my throat, where I had been cut.
He let go of my face and just knelt next to me. He was shaking. He was silent for a long time.
He just stared at me. Tears stung my face again.
"are you going to rape me?" my voice was shaking and less then a whisper. He  shut his eyes tight.
"of course not!" he sounded insulted.
"are you going to-" He cut me off.
"I'm not going to kill you either!" he growled the words quietly.
"So, just calm down."
I nodded.
"tell me your name."
"I'm Jane." I managed. I was still very scared by the strange creature in front of me.
He was still shaking. "…w-what are you?" my curiosity was getting the better of me as I spoke.
"…I don't know." he said quietly. He stood quickly and smashed his fist into the concrete wall, leaving a small crator.
He stopped shaking. There was a shattering CRUNCH! he hit the wall again and growled angrily.
"Who are you!!" he shouted.
"Jane!" I cried out pressing myself against the wall, as far away as I could get from him.
He turned to me and stood looking at me blankly.
"Go to sleep Jane. Think of this as a bad dream, just a nightmare, go to sleep." He said. I fealt very tired, as the adrenaline wore off. I laid my head on the pillow, and my eyes closed.
